Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of heroes, and a gripping narrative showcasing angels, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in strength within the city.
Note: Key plot points for the third episode of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of heroes who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that having everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Questers.
What Defines the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 show why these five characters are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the party understands precisely where to head next after a intense initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each character has a personal reason to depart the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks vengeance.
- Kattigan is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The strong character and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the group access areas they usually can’t.
- Additionally, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are hunted by the rulers that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around next week, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Explorers and Strategists tables.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which players will be in which group in the story’s concluding setup installment, available to watch on October 24.
